Regional property values are on the rise

CoreLogic’s latest regional report which analyses value and rent changes across the country’s 50 largest non-capital Significant Urban Areas (SUAs found dwelling values are now rising faster in regional markets than in the capitals; values are up 1.2% and 1.0 % respectively, over the three months to January).

Although the pace of quarterly value growth across the combined regions has eased from 1.6% in November 2023, the combined capitals has seen a sharper deceleration, from a recent peak of 3.9% over the three months to July 2023.

What the local property looks like

But if you want deeper insights, we’ve taken data* supplied by CoreLogic and Your Investment Property Magazine, and compiled them in our summer property report here.

Our report includes the median price, change in median price (12 months), change in median price
(5 years), and average hold price (years).

For instance, in Cardiff, where we are based, the figures look like this:

In Cameron Park, the figures are slightly different:

In Garden Suburb, the data is different again; the median price is almost a cool $1 million.

We’ve also included the number of sales, and listed recent property sales, with a picture, the date and price it sold for. Of course, sales figures may actually vary for the same type of house depending on the state of it.

To help you gauge how long it may take you to sell (subject to correct pricing and marketing strategies), we’ve included the number of days a property is on the market for.

Investors will also be interested, as we’ve added the weekly rent and gross rental yield for the area.
